The great accident collection thread, for learning.

For learning new and existing scooties about the dangers, maybe there is a need for a collecton of accident stories. Some data should be gathered, like:

1. speed/maxspeed

2. terrain type (car lane, bike lane next to car lane, separate bike lane, pedestriamn, other)

3. Tyre types (dim, air or solid) (or scooter model)

4. Motor power (front and back wheel)

5. Cruise control on?

6. Protection gear worn

7. Experience

8. Incident description

9. Lesson learned

Ill start with my two accidents. First in April 23 iirc.

1. <15/20kmh

2. Just outside home, on mostly dry paving stones, but some wet leaves

3. 8" thin, air filled, E-wheels E2S V2 Max

4. I think its 700w on front wheel, none on back

5. Cruise control kicked in jusst before the accident as the wheel met some wet leaves

6. None

7. A couple of years driving less powered 250w type

8. Had been out picking up some food and had it on in my back pack. Got close to my door (villa) and my new scooter was pretty wild on acceleration so it climbed the small uphill pretty well, and at the top, at a left turn, the cruise control kicked in, just as the wheel was at the we leaves. This made the front wheel spin and slide out sideways. I smashed my head in the paving stones and got a small concussion and partly smashed face.

9. First lesson to learn how a wild powered scooter works. It does 0 to full speed in less than a second if there is no resistance. This ought to be limited by the firmware imo, but it wasnt.

Second, Feb 4. 2026

1. 20/20km/h

2. Separate bike lane, crossing car lanes

3. 10" fat air filled, E-wheels E2S V2 Urban Max

4. 1300w rear wheel only

5. No cruise control (never again!)

6. Just a thicker full reflective jacket and a normal soft hat for the cold

7. Many years now. Didnt stop after first accident

8. I disagreed with the car who to stop. I hit the front of the flat faced car, and I dont think I took any damage from that, but trying to run toward the dirt patch on the other side of the road almost succeded. But there was a metal man hole there with edge sticking up, so my right hip got caught on that edge and took a good blow. No hit to the head at all. Scooter rear end got bent, but I was able to bend it back after taking the wheel on. Hip is still not full recovered, but I can walk normally

9. Lesson learned, never to trust cars to stop. Dont go until you know you can make it.
